Cooksey
Obituary for Yvonne R. Cooksey
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James R. Cooksey and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Shelley Cooksey; her daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Eddie Gleaton; two grandsons, Jonathan Cooksey, Philip Cooksey and his wife Ashley; and brother-in-law, Arthur A. Cooksey.
Yvonne was formerly employed as a Registered Nurse at Somerset Medical Center in NJ. She taught Bible study for 13 years at Brookdale Cave Spring Assisted Living Facility in Roanoke.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Oakey' s South Chapel, 4257 Brambleton Ave, Roanoke, VA 24018, with Dr. Bryan Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Oakey 's South Chapel.
A private entombment will be at Evergreen Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Roanoke, Connecting Fund, 515 Third Street SW, Roanoke, VA 24016.
