Dear Friends,
I want to thank everyone for their prayers and
support during the recent death of my husband,
Fran Thomas. I want to assure everyone that Wilson
Varcoe and I will be keeping the tradition going.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Fran Thomas, owner of Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home on Tuesday, July
8, 2008. He was a great man who had a strong passion for his family
and his community. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Francis X. III (39) of Horsham, passed away suddenly on July 8th,
2008. Fran was born in Bristol, PA, and was the beloved husband
of Mary (Monahan). He was the son of Francis X. and Joyce L. (nee
Barkovich) Thomas and grandson of Marion Barkovich. He is also survived
by his Mother and Father-in-law, Edward Jr. and Joan Monahan in
Doylestown, Brothers and Sisters-in-law Anne and Michael Ettore,
Edward III and Nancy Monahan, Kate and Robert Gorelick and Joan
and Mark Donaphon. He was dearly loved and survived by his 12 nieces
and nephews and 9 cousins. He was predeceased by his Grandfather
Edward Barkovich and Grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Francis X. Thomas
I. He was the owner of The Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home in Doylestown.
He was a graduate of Cypress Creek High School and of Northampton
Community College Funeral Program. He was a parishioner of Our Lady
of Mt. Carmel in Doylestown, where he served in the St. Joseph Society.
He served his community in many ways, including the Doylestown Rotary,
Chamber of Commerce and formerly with Central Bucks Rescue and Warrington
Rescue, where he was an E.M.T. He was also previously employed as
an Emergency Dispatcher for Bucks County.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass Saturday
July 12th at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 E.
State Street, Doylestown. Friends may call from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m.
on Friday July 11th at Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 N. Main Street,
Doylestown. Interment, Doylestown Cemetary.
In Lieu of Flowers, contributions can be made in Fran's memory
to Children's Hospital Foundation, 34th Street and Civic Center
Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
Fran and Mary loved each other very much.
