Obituary for Roger Dean Peterson, Jr.
Roger Dean Peterson, Jr. of Doylestown, PA passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 18, 2023. He was 57.
Born in Omaha, NE, Roger most recently resided in Doylestown, PA.
Roger graduated from Mount Michael Benedictine School, located in Elkhorn, NE, and played on the school’s state champion football team in 1982. He received his bachelor’s degree from Drake University, located in Des Moines, IA, and was a member of the Pike Fraternity. He then received his master’s degree from Baldwin Wallace University, located in Berea Oh.
Roger had an expansive 34-year career in Sales. He began his 24 years at Johnson & Johnson as a Sales Rep and was ultimately promoted to National Sales Director. After Johnson & Johnson, he continued his career as a Vice President of Sales at different organizations. He most recently established The BEACON Sales Advisory Group in 2020, where he provided consulting and sales services in a vast variety of organizations.
Outside of work Roger always enjoyed a good game of golf and spent weekends with the BFGA (Brain Falcone Golf Association) golf members at the Doylestown Country Club.
Roger Dean was passionate about giving back to others, especially after his 2021 cancer diagnosis. He was on the board of Directors for Let’s Win (a Pancreatic Cancer support Group) and support the Love for Life Foundation (a Newtown, PA based non-profit organization raising funds for pancreatic cancer research). Roger served as a patient advocate and mentor at Imerman Angels, where he offered guidance and support to others recently diagnosed with cancer.
Roger’s love for life was infectious and he inspired many through his strength, perseverance, and grace. His faith and will to live, even when faced with insurmountable odds, gave him the opportunity to share key moments with his close family and friends. Roger raised two amazing daughters and found the love of his life Amber…his angel. He left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
He will be loved and remembered each and every day!
He was the beloved husband of Amber Peterson; devoted father of Allison Marie Peterson, Sydney (Peterson) Smethurst and husband Brandon, Gavin and Cole Ostroff; cherished son of Carolyn Jean (Gutschenritter) Peterson and the late Roger Dean Peterson, Sr.; dear brother of Shelly (Peterson) Craig and husband Paul, Jackie (Peterson) Grant and husband Scott, Patti (Peterson) Luetticke and husband Gary, Edward Peterson and wife Jenna (Ziolkowski) Peterson; also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Mount Michael Benedictine School, 22520 Mount Michael Road, Elkhorn, NE 68022 on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 7:00 pm.
Cremation services were private.
