Obituary for Ralph W. Martin
Ralph W. Martin of Buckingham Township, PA passed away at Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, PA on Saturday, October 22, 2022. He was 84.
Born in Maysville, KY, to the late Glenn and Lucille (Cochran) Martin, Ralph resided in Buckingham Township for 47 years and formerly resided in Cincinnati, OH.
Ralph graduated from Ripley High School, Ripley, OH and attended the University of Cincinnati. He was formerly employed at Proctor & Gamble for 19 years and with Firmenich Inc of Plainsboro, NJ for 27 years. While at Firmenich, Ralph rose to the position of Master Perfumer before retiring in 2003. Ralph received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the American Society of Perfumers in 1997. He was a member of Spring Mill Country Club for many years and also a member of Forest Grove Presbyterian Church and was active in the voice and bell choirs.
He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Janet (Shirden) Martin; devoted father of Peggy (Dan) Danilowicz, Susan (Ed) Barnes, and Daniel (Jennifer) Martin. He was preceded in death by a son, John (Christy) and a brother Nathan Martin and sister Jane Henry. He is survived by a brother Thomas Martin and sister Doris Cooper and many nieces and nephews and extended family. Ralph was the loving grandfather of Shane, Evan, Eileen, Lily and Joey, and cherished great-grandfather of Jayden and Emerson.
The family will receive their friends at the Forest Grove Presbyterian Church, 1856 Forest Grove Road, Forest Grove, PA 18922 on Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 10:00 to 11:00 am, with a service to follow.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
A celebration of Ralph’s life will take place immediately following the service at Spring Mill Manor, 171 Jacksonville Rd, Ivyland, PA 18974 at 1:00pm.
