Obituary for Kathryn S. Koenig
Kathryn S. Koenig of Erwinna, PA passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on Friday, October 14, 2022. She was 80.
Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Ernest Krause, Jr. and Edith Dunlap Krause, Kathryn resided in Richboro, PA before moving to Erwinna, PA in 1976.
Kay was well respected and recognized as a prominent business woman within the drilling industry for over 35 years. She was a driving force within various drilling companies during her career and was one of the founders, CEO of United Drilling. After retiring, Kay enjoyed working at Piper Veterinary Clinic in Pipersville, PA as she loved animals, as well as interacting with the clientele. She enjoyed traveling, music and theater, as well as her flower gardens. She will be missed by those who knew her happy, fun-loving nature and quick smile.
She was the loving mother of Jeffrey (Kathleen) Koenig, Randal Koenig, Kathryn Boston and the late Mark Koenig; proud grandmother of Matthew Koenig, Christine Koenig, Samantha (Jared) Shive and Brian Koenig; cherished great-grandmother of Adelyn and Callie Shive.
Relatives & friends are invited to join the family for a memorial gathering to be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 12 Noon – 1:00 pm, with a service to follow.
