Obituary for Michael John Richino, Jr. "Mike"

Michael John Richino, Jr. died peacefully on Saturday, October 15th. He was 81.

Mike was a teacher and coach who graduated from Lock Haven University where he met the love of his life, his wife of 58 years, Martha (Marty) Richino. The love they shared was unlike any other.

Family meant everything to Mike. He cherished his children, Beth Nichols (David), their daughters Lauren and Brenda, Cheryl Richino-Flavin (Thomas), their children Thomas, John, Daniel and Talia, and Mike Richino (Diane) and their children Mikey and Brianna, along with his great grandchildren Aela, Jackson and Sybil. He was a beloved brother to Nick Richino (Mary), Barbara Richino and Beth Richino-Brown. He will be missed by his nieces Brittany MacAfee and Angelina Kitchen as well as the rest of his large and loving family.

All who knew him felt his amazing love for others. Big Mike was a gentle giant who was truly larger than life. A husband, a father, a teacher, coach, mentor and friend, he made an impact on all who knew him. He was known for his sense of humor, booming voice, infectious smile and outgoing personality.

Mike loved sports, fishing, hunting and old movies. He was an epic storyteller who was known to hold court at social events. True to his Italian heritage he loved to share a meal with family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 21st from 10am to 12pm at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church, 1410 Almshouse Road, Jamison, PA 18929, followed by a funeral mass.

Interment will be private.
