Obituary for Kathleen Marie Austin (Kay)
Kathleen Marie Austin, “Kay,” 87 of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, formerly of Bridgewater NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at the home of her youngest daughter in New Hope, PA.
Kay was born on September 28, 1934 in Bronx, NY to Elizabeth and Martin Jones. She met her husband Ken Austin in college, and they were married on December 11, 1954 and were happily married for over 63 years. Kay was very proud to have finished her BA from Douglas College (Rutgers) in NJ and spending many years as an enthusiastic Pre-School Teacher at First Baptist Church in Somerville, NJ. Kay was an avid reader and loved shopping and doting on her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife to her entrepreneurial husband and an unbelievably supportive and caring mother to her four children Brian, Tara, Kathleen, and Tricia.
Kay is survived by her daughters, Tara (Penza) and her husband Fred, Kathleen (Kuhn) and her husband Mike, Tricia (Tangradi) and her husband Joe. Including her grandchildren and their families, Nicole, Ryan and Austin McCarthy, Michael Kuhn, Alex and Amanda Penza, Ryan Kuhn and his fiancé Mimi Pinciotti, Matthew Penza, Katie Tangradi, Patrick Tangradi and Jack Tangradi. Kay is preceded in death by her husband Ken Austin, and her son Brian Austin.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church, 1 Riverstone Circle, New Hope, PA 18938 on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 11:00 am. A luncheon will follow the services.
