Obituary for Dr. Nestor J. Azziz
Dr. Nestor J. Azziz of New York City passed away at his residence on Saturday, August 6, 2022. He was 89.
Born in Durazno, Uruguay to the late Mateo and Saturna (Jozami) Azziz, Nestor resided in Stamford and Kent, CT before moving to New York City.
He received his PhD from Penn State University and later worked for Westinghouse, IBM and the NY Department of Energy as a research scientist. Nestor was on the faculty at the University of Uruguay and the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Azziz of 25 years; his children, Dr. Ricardo Azziz and wife Cindy, Dr. Rudy Azziz Baumgartner and wife Diane, Cecilia Azziz, Dr. Eduardo Azziz Baumgartner and wife Robin, and Annabel Azziz; his grandchildren, Ashley, Mallory, Jonathon, Erin, Thea Jean, Cayden, Gustavo, Emma, Lucie and the late Cesar.
A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 E. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 10:30 am. The family will receive their friends from 9:45 - 10:15 am prior to the mass.
Interment will follow in Doylestown Cemetery, Doylestown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
