Obituary for Fredric J. Bauer

The one and only Fredric J. Bauer of Carversville, PA passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, July 17, 2022. He was 82.

Born in Cincinnati, OH to the late Richard and Mildred (Hirschenhorn) Bauer, Fred was inducted into show business as a young man accompanying his parents on the vaudeville stage as a dancer and comic. His life’s journey took him all over the country before settling in Carversville with the love of his life.

Fred graduated from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA with a degree in Communications, an obvious choice for a man who dearly loved to pontificate. His professional accomplishments include producing hit records in the 1960s, working in television, filming some of the first music videos, creating an award winning PSA, and writing & producing an Academy Award winning motion picture.

Despite his myriad accomplishments, he wanted nothing more than to be home with his family, telling everyone to quiet down. He was the loving husband of 51 years to Frances (Avrut) Bauer; devoted father of Paige Bauer-Curran and husband Sean, Zane Bauer and husband Dan Turner; dear brother of Judy Leeb and husband Rich; doting grandfather of Wren and Archer.

Cremation services were private under the direction of the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. A celebration of his life and jokes will be held at his home on Saturday, August 13th.
