Obituary for Patrick J. Hilferty

Patrick J. Hilferty of Pipersville, PA left this Earth to be with his Lord on Sunday, June 26, 2022 after a brief illness. He was 73 years young.

Patrick was a Master Plumber for many years and was a kind and honest man who had many friends who loved him.

He was a great woodworker mostly concentrating on building bird houses. Patrick enjoyed and fed many wild birds that nested on his property, feeding them endlessly even if money was tight.

Patrick served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Medal of Honor for being an expert marksman and sharpshooter. He never hunted or did any harm to any animals because he enjoyed them so much.

He will be sorely missed by many. There was no one like him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Marian Hilferty, a sister Kathy Volk, and a nephew Georgie Strahan.

Patrick is survived by his loving wife Chrissie; his siblings, Ann (George) Stachan of Newtown, PA, Joe (Nancy) Hilferty of York, PA, Penny (Charles) Mascaro of NJ, and John Hilferty a world traveller; also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved.

So as the Bible says, “be still Pat and rest.” Your forever in our hearts.

A service with military honors will be held at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940 on Tuesday, July 12th at 10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Humane Society or Fisherman’s Mark of Lambertville to assist in feeding others.
