Obituary for Gail Cecile Speakman

Gail Cecile Speakman of Dublin, PA passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022 in Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, Allentown, PA. She was 50.

Born in Abington, PA to Gail Cecile (Keller) Speakman and the late Leonard J. Speakman, Gail resided in Warminster, PA before moving to Dublin, PA in 1997.

Gail graduated from William Tennent High School and received a B.S. Biochemistry, University of Rochester, MBA, LaSalle University, and a M.S., Quality Assurance / Regulatory Affairs, Temple University of Philadelphia.

Gail began her career in biochemistry, working as a laboratory technician at Princeton University and later Neose Technologies. She then moved into clinical trials data management, working with Premier Research in Philadelphia, ICON in North Wales, PharmaNet in Princeton, Advanced Biologics in Lambertville, and Pfizer, Inc. For the last 8 years she operated Speakman Data Services as an independent contractor to Pfizer.

Gail was a longtime member of the Society for Clinical Data Management, earning their Certified Clinical Data Manager (CCDM) designation. She was also a member of Delta Zeta sorority. Gail was an avid animal lover and often contributed to Stray Cat Blues and The Sato Project. She also enjoyed yoga and jazz music, and both attended shows at and contributed to McCarter Theater.

She was the beloved wife of 27 years to Peter A. Cavallo; devoted mother of Daniel, Sara and Michaela Cavallo; dear sister of Leonard Speakman, Jr., Helen Speakman (John Viggiano); loving aunt of Joseph, Nicholas and Samantha Speakman-Viggiano; Michael Distler and Andrea Zepp; Brian, Kimberly, and Katherine Engelhart; cherished grandaunt of Jackson McGee; daughter-in-law of Bruno and Perla Cavallo; sister-in-law of Karen and Norman Distler, and Michele Engelhart.

Visitation will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Thursday from 10:00 am – 12 Noon, with a Celebration of Gail’s Life to begin at 12 Noon.

Private cremation will follow.
