Diane Schweder went home to heaven on Tuesday May 24. My mother was a loyal friend and a tireless fighter no matter the circumstance.
She was an amazing mother. She went above and beyond to look out for her son. What she went without to give me so much, only she will ever know. She loved her family; grandchildren Lily, Dylan, Stella and Bradley brought her so much joy and we were so lucky to have her with us as they grew up.
“Nanny Irish” always had an extra spot to cozy up on the bed and loved to take them out to breakfast. She had a relationship with her daughter in law Jessica that was so special - they laughed cried and talked all the time. They were great friends and loved each other deeply.
Diane was funny! She looked forward to her mammogram as her “thrill of the year” and loved all things Irish. Some of her happiest moments were surrounded by friends and family on St Patrick’s Day at Baileys in Levittown. Watching the Quiet Man with Mom, just two of us in an empty Fort Mill theatre is one of my fondest memories. I remember how happy she looked watching John Wayne on the big screen.
Diane didn’t have an easy life, but she made the most of every moment. Working, loving and living hard up until the very end. Always, always giving more than she received.
For those who knew her, she loved you all and would want nothing more than a grand party filled with laughs and plenty of green.
Uncle Tom, Uncle Tony, Aunt Jo, Uncle Dan - she loved you all so very much. To her family and friends, nieces, nephews and sisters in law, only the fondest of memories. Thank you for years of love and your visits in the last few weeks.
Interment will be private.
