Obituary for Carlton George Leslie

Carlton George Leslie, 74, of Chalfont, passed away August 9, 2021.

Carl was born 9/18/46 to Harold Leroy Leslie and Katherine (Lesh) Leslie in Philadelphia, PA. He moved to Painesville OH as a child with his mother and was a graduate of Riverside High School class of 1964, when he enlisted in the US Air Force. Carl served our country in Vietnam as a Munitions Specialist, then later provided security at Andrews Air Force Base near Washington DC.

Carl married Joan Halloran of Tumut, Australia in 1968. She moved to the United States and they raised two sons. After his discharge as Sergeant, Carl worked as an auto mechanic for several years before finding his passion as a heavy equipment mechanic and operator. In 1985 he went into business for himself, operating and repairing machines of all kinds.

In his retirement he enjoyed farming hay, raising chickens, and being in his shop working on his antique tractors, restoring cars and equipment, and countless other projects, often with his sons. He also enjoyed multiple cross country adventures with his favorite destination being the Hoover Dam.

Carl is survived by his beloved partner Apryl Shaibley, his sons Jonathan Paul and his wife Caroline of Pennsylvania Furnace, and Robert Tyler and his wife Jennifer (daughter Kaitlyn) of Chalfont, his precious dog, Mya “num-nuts”, as well as his sons’ countless friends who considered him a not only a mentor but father figure throughout the years. Carl is also survived by his step brother David Blystone and his wife Edith and his many nieces and nephews, and their families. Carl was preceded in death by his sister Cheryl Leslie, his mother Katherine “Kass” Blystone, father Harold Leslie, and step-father Paul Blystone.
