Obituary for John C. Wilkins Jr.

John C. Wilkins Jr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was 77.

Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late John C. Wilkins and Frances (Ullman) Wilkins, he was raised in Philadelphia and summered in Island Heights, NJ. John resided in Oreland, PA before moving to Doylestown, PA in 1972.

After graduating from Frankford High School, John received a soccer scholarship from SUNY Maritime College in Bronx, NY and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He was the owner of Wilkins Associates, Inc. of Doylestown, PA and provided engineering sales to the custom automation industry. John coached youth soccer travel teams in the Buckingham Athletic Association from 1974-2000. He continued playing soccer on various teams around Philadelphia until the age of 42. John enjoyed sailing and boating and was a member of Island Heights Yacht Club in NJ. He was also a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Doylestown, PA and the Dawn Patrol Men’s Bible Group.

He was the beloved husband of 55 years to Charlotte (Flynn) Wilkins; devoted father of John C. Wilkins III and wife Kirsten; dear brother of Roy Wilkins and wife Jane, and the late Mary Ellen Gray; loving uncle of RJ Wilkins and Alyssa Dixon, Charlotte Hassman and Chris Gray.

The family will receive their friends at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 E. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Saturday, June 5th from 12:00-12:45 pm, with a funeral mass to begin at 1:00 pm. Private Cremation will follow.

The family will have an Open House reception at the family's home on Foxcroft Drive following the funeral mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
