Obituary for Richard E. Eshbach, M.D.

Richard E. Eshbach, MD of Doylestown, PA passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in Wesley Enhanced Skilled Nursing Center, Doylestown, PA. He was 88.

Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Earl F. and Geraldine (Hafer) Eshbach, he resided in Loutraki, Corinthia, Greece and lived part time during the year in Doylestown, PA.

Richard was an Ursinus College graduate of the class of 1954 and the Jefferson Medical College class of 1958. He was formerly employed as a psychiatrist working as the Director of Drug Treatment Programs in Philadelphia, PA and Denver, CO as well as for the Department of Defense in Heidelberg, Frankfurt, and Stuttgart, Germany. He was the Assistant Director at the Veterans Affairs in Lebanon, PA before retiring. Richard enjoyed watercolor painting and gardening. He was a United States Naval Veteran and served as a Lieutenant.

He was the beloved husband of 64 years to Lillian (Kyritsis) Eshbach; dear brother of the late Phyllis Wagner and Eleanor Mahle; loving uncle of Charles Wagner and husband Joseph Cary, Judy Schipe, Susan Vincent and husband Bob, Jeff Mahle and wife Dale, Stephen Micromanolis, Dean Georgaris and the late Barbara Wagner Miller.

A graveside service will be held at St. John-Hill Church Cemetery, 620 Hill Church Road, Boyertown, PA 19512 on Saturday, June 19, 2021, 11:00 followed by a luncheon at the Yellow House Hotel, 6743 Boyertown Pike, Douglassville, PA 19518.

Cremation services were private.
