Obituary for J. Earle Yerkes Jr.

J. Earle Yerkes, Jr. of Pipersville, PA passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was 88.

Born in Buckingham, PA to the late Joseph Earle Yerkes, Sr. and Dorothy (Doan) Yerkes, Earle resided in Pipersville, PA since 1948.

Earle was the former owner of his family farm and The Milk House. He also worked as a real estate agent with several firms. Earle was a member of the Doylestown United Methodist Church and church choir; a 70 year member of the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company and Fire Chief Association; Bucks County Farmers Association and Board of Realtors; Interstate Milk Producers; Plumstead Township Planning Board; and Quakertown Band. Earle enjoyed cruising with his wife Arlene and travelling to their home on the west coast of Florida.

He was the beloved husband of 67 years to Arlene (Heyer) Yerkes; devoted father of Joseph A. (Mary Kaye) Yerkes, Fay (Philip) Kocan, Amy (late Jerry) Krone, Hope (Robert) Suber, Dawn (Allen) Cifelli, Denise (David) Suber, and the late David Yerkes; dear brother of Lorraine Yerkes; also survived by 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at the Doylestown United Methodist Church, 320 E. Swamp Road, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, with a service to begin at 12:00 pm.

Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Richboro, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company or Doylestown United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
