Faye C. Bussey (nee Cephas) of Doylestown, PA passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Friday, February 19, 2021. She was 75.
To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Faye C. Bussey, please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
Born in Washington, DC to the late Leonard Cephas and Johnella (Redman) Cephas, she resided in Baltimore, MD, Columbia, MD, Landisville, Pa, and Hillsborough, NJ before moving to Doylestown, PA in 1992.
Faye was formerly employed as an administrative assistant with the Federal Government Departments of Labor and Housing & Urban Development. She also used her administrative skills at Exxon Mobil Corporation in Hunt Valley, MD and Linden, NJ, and later as an employment coordinator with Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical in Raritan, NJ.
She was the beloved wife of 51 years to Ronald J. Bussey; devoted mother of Troy M. Bussey (wife Melissa) and the late R. Andre Bussey; dear sister of the late Terrance Cephas; loving grandmother of Andre James Bussey and Xavier Charles Bussey, and dear friend to many. She was also a ‘neighborhood mom’ to many other kids while living in Hillsborough.
Faye loved animals of all kinds, but had a special spot in her heart for dogs - she could often be found petting the dogs (or sneaking them food) at family gatherings or picnics. Too often she would remember a dog’s name long before their owner’s. One of her favorite hobbies was tennis - playing it when she was able and watching it every chance she could get. She also enjoyed volleyball throughout most of her life, and was quite a good baker in years past. Her family was grateful for the cross-country RV road trip we were able to enjoy together in September of 2020.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Saturday, March 13th from 10:00-11:00 am with a service to begin at 11:00 am.
Relatives and friends may livestream the gathering and service by clicking on the Photos/Videos section of Faye's obituary on the funeral home website.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Bucks County SPCA, PO Box 277, Lahaska, PA 18931 or www.bcspca.org would be appreciated.
