Obituary for Angelina A. (Amati) Marano

In her 90th year, Angelina A. “Angie” (Amati) Marano went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2021.

Born to Joseph and Lena Amati in South Philadelphia in 1931, she was a proud 1949 graduate of Girls South Philly High School. In 1954, she married Domenic J. Marano, who preceded her in death in 1998. They were married for 44 years and raised four children who were her pride and joy. Throughout her life, family was most important, and she loved nothing more than having her children, their spouses, and grandchildren sitting around the table and enjoying coffee, cake, and conversation. She was an excellent Italian cook and Sundays always meant big pots of gravy, “macaroni” and meatballs. She loved going out for pizza on Fridays. Her summer vacations were always with her parents and family on the beaches in Wildwood Crest, NJ. Her Catholic faith was a central part of her life. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Jerome’s parish in Northeast Philadelphia.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, John Amati, and a sister, Marie Sinagoga. She is survived by her four children Domenic (Wendy), Joseph (Paula), Maria Keisler (Robert), Michael (Debra); 10 grandchildren: Angela, Ken, Anthony, Stephen, Mark, Elizabeth, Dan, Jillian, Matthew, and Justine; and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and other extended family.
