Obituary

Obituary for Brian James Balderston

Brian J. Balderston, 34 of Wharton, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on January 7th, 2021 at his home.

Brian was born July 2,1986 in Trenton, NJ. He graduated from Central Bucks High School East in 2004. Brian attended Lehigh University and graduated with a degree in Computer Science and Business in 2008. He earned his master’s degree in Software Engineering from Drexel University. Brian was employed by the U.S. Army as a Computer Scientist at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ.

He was a proud member of the marching band during high school and college (Marching 97). Brian was an avid reader, physical fitness enthusiast, enjoyed listening to music and playing the drums. Brian attended all Lehigh football games and loved tailgating with his friends.

He was the beloved son of Keith Balderston and Susan (Davis) Balderston; dear brother of Kristine Balderston; cherished grandson of Clarke and Joan Davis, and the late Lawrence P. and Elizabeth M. Balderston; loving nephew of Lawrence Balderston, Cathy Scaramuzzo and the late James C. Davis (who is survived by his wife Joan Davis); also survived by his cousins, Samantha Scaramuzzo, Matthew and Alex Davis and many dear friends. Our family will be forever incomplete without him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brian’s memory to Lehigh University, 27 Memorial Drive West, Bethlehem, PA 18015-3086.

Brian was employed as a Computer Scientist at
Picatinny. Brian was a valued as the BDMS Team Lead, and previously worked on JPADS, AHMT, OSE
and other systems for the Armament Software Engineering Center.

Brian was an extremely intelligent, innovative, dedicated, reliable team
player, who has contributed so much to his team, our Armament Software
Projects, the Army, DoD, and the ultimately the United States of America.

During his career here at Picatinny, Brian formed many close bonds with his
co-workers, and will be sorely missed. He was extremely well respected by
his peers and his loss will be felt not only by his friends, but the entire
Picatinny community.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Balderston family.
