Obituary for James J. Annan, Jr.

James J. Annan, Jr. of Perkasie, PA passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, PA. He was 77.

Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late James J. and Gertrude (Hawes) Annan, James has resided in Perkasie, PA for the past 46 years.

A kind and gentle man, Jim was loved dearly by his family and friends. Always dependable, he had an honorable work ethic, rarely missing a day throughout his entire career.

He enlisted in the US Navy in 1963 and served his country honorably for four years.

He was a SEPTA bus driver for over 30 years, and after retirement, joined the Central Bucks School District as a school bus driver. James was an active member of the Moose and American Legion Post in Quakertown. What he loved most was spending time with family and friends, he was an avid bowler in his earlier days, and enjoyed collecting trolleys and busses.

He was the beloved husband of 46 years to Margaret (Rowland) Annan; loving father of Margaret Kline (Terry), William D. Hopkins III (Christina), and Scott Annan (Lori); cherished grandfather of Tara Hallman (Jake), Carly Henry (Darren), Ryan Haines, Brooks Hopkins (Katlyn), Paige Hopkins, Quinn Annan and Parker Annan; dearest great grandfather of Zeke, Brett and Tice Hallman, Wyatt and Mackenzie Henry.

A gathering period will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home in Doylestown, PA on Friday, October 30, 2020 from 10:00 – 11:00 am, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 am.

Interment will be held at a later date.
