Obituary for Adele B. Smuszkiewicz

Adele B. Smuszkiewicz (nee Ludwig) passed away on April 15, 2020 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. She was 89.

Born in Philadelphia, Adele was raised by her aunt and uncle, Mary and Felix Nevolis, living in the Bridesburg neighborhood of the city. She attended Nazareth Academy and upon graduation began her career as a business secretary. Her last employment was at the Burpee Seed Company.

Adele left a legacy of laughter, love, strength and style. She was an extraordinary force in the family and her amiable personality impressed everyone who met her.

Adele was married to the love of her life, Joe, who sadly passed away in their 62nd year of marriage, and they had resided in Warminster where she was an active member of Nativity of Our Lord Church. In 2018 she moved to the Pine Run Community in Doylestown.

Adele was the beloved mother of Kathleen Mack (Phillip), Terese Bechtel (John), Nancy Longo (Bill), and Steven Smuszkiewicz (Jennifer); the loving Mom-Mom of 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; the dear sister of George Ludwig.

Cremation services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to either the Alzheimer’s Association at Alz.org or the Pine Run Community, please specify the Garden: Memory Care Unit on the memo line, 777 Ferry Road, Doylestown, PA 18901.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
