Obituary for Ernest R. Vierk

Ernest R. Vierk of Doylestown, PA passed away at his residence on Monday, March 2, 2020. He was 96.

Born in Lansing, IL of suburban Chicago to the late Bernhardt and Adele (Rakow) Vierk, he grew up and resided in Lansing, IL prior to moving to Jenkintown, PA, to Pittsburgh, PA and finally to Doylestown in 1983.

Ernest was a chemist and business administrator. He was a World War II veteran and fought with the US Army 44th Infantry Division in Germany and France. He enjoyed playing golf and tennis (at the Doylestown Tennis Club) with his wife, Nora. He greatly loved their cats.

He was the beloved husband of 72 years to Nora (Heimbuch) Vierk; dear brother of the late Edward “Jim” Vierk (Alice); loving father of Lois Vierk (Bruce Ide); cherished grandfather of Wendy Shu-Fen Ide; and caring uncle to four nieces.

Interment with military honors will be held on a later date at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
