Obituary for William David Burt
William David Burt of Lansdale, PA passed away in Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, PA on Friday, January 31, 2020. He was 78.
Born in Darby, PA, to the late William and Rosalie (McGorman) Burt, Bill grew up in Havertown, PA before moving to Macungie, PA, Tulsa, OK, and settling in Lansdale, PA in 1994.
Bill was a Graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School and Villanova University. He was formerly employed as a Controller with Air Products of Trexlertown, PA; Chief Financial Officer of Atlantic Pipeline, Reading, PA; Chief Financial Officer of Sun Pipeline, Tulsa, OK; and retired from Sunoco in Philadelphia and established a forensic accounting consulting firm providing services to the petroleum industry. Bill also Served in the US Army and National Guard. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golf, and a good cheesesteak.
Bill was the husband of the late Arlene (Lazarus) Burt and brother of the late Joseph Burt and Rosalie Burt. He is survived by a daughter, Valarie (Burt) Discafani and husband Dr. Andrew Discafani, of Oxford, NJ; stepdaughter, Sherry (Howells) Grim and husband David, of Whitehall, PA; sister, Theresa (Sister Monica) Burt, of Mount St. Mary’s Abbey, Wrentham, MA; sister, Mary (Burt) Markle of Erdenheim, PA; brother, Leonard Burt of Portland, OR; and grandchildren, Elyse, Peter, and Michael.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 pm. A second memorial visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Doylestown on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 10:00-11:00 prior to the funeral mass at 11:00 am.
