Obituary for Stacey Flynn

Stacey Flynn of Chalfont, PA was taken by lung cancer on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. She was 56. She wasn’t a smoker and wanted everyone to know that you only need lungs to get it!

Born in Burbank, CA, her late parents were Lee and Maxine (Rubin) Raymond. She came to the east coast from Las Vegas when she was 16 years old and lived in Philadelphia until she met her husband. Stacey also lived in Jenkintown while caring for her mother and grandmother in law, Sylvia “Chickie” Mitnick, prior to moving to Chalfont in 2005 with her husband and two small children.

Stacey earned a Pharmacology Degree from Temple University of Philadelphia and recently was a long-time pharmacist with CVS in Glenside, PA. She was a member of Rho Chi (National Honor Society for Pharmacy), enjoyed travelling with her family, attended numerous concerts (she loved the Grateful Dead and Elton John), and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, as well as her dogs (Moose and Texi). She believed in the value and spirit of recovery and helped many people over the last 31 years.

She was the beloved life partner and wife of 31 years to Leo M. Flynn; devoted mother of Sara and Torin Flynn; loving daughter-in-law of Susan Thayer (Lew); and dear longtime friend of Gail Marquis and Mandie Lafferty.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Saturday, January 11, 2019 from 10:00-11:30 am, with a service to begin at 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Philabundance, 3616 S. Galloway Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148 (www.philabundance.org) or the The Humane Society of the United States, 1255 23rd Street NW, Suite 450, Washington, DC 20037 (www.humanesociety.org).
