Obituary for Barbara Ann Fuchs (Longley)
Barbara Ann Fuchs of Doylestown, PA passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Wesley Enhanced Living, of Doylestown, PA, at the age of 90.
Born in Galesburg, Illinois to the late Glen and Josephine (Erickson) Longley, Barbara resided in both Hightstown and Lawrenceville, NJ before moving to Doylestown, PA.
Barbara graduated from Iowa State University with a BS in Home Economics (Child Development). Some of Barbara’s jobs have included teaching nursery school in Ann Arbor, MI, selling World Book and Childcraft encyclopedias, working as an administrative assistant at the AT&T Corporate Education Center, selling real estate, and working as a travel agent and counselor at AAA. Over the years, some of her volunteer work included scouting, church work, and managing the Senior Center Nutrition Project, among others.
Barbara loved playing bridge and other games, participating in bible studies, staying active, eating healthy, reading and taking continuing education classes, and spending time with her loving grandchildren.
She was the beloved mother of Gary W. Fuchs (Michelle DiNapoli) and Karen Fuchs (John Gall); caring sister of the late Donald Longley; loving grandmother of Elliot, James, Natalie, Owen, Nicholas and Jackson; and devoted aunt of Carol Kaiser and Sandy Lamb.
A gathering will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Tuesday, November 19th from 11:00 – 12:00 pm, followed by a service at 12:00 pm.
