Obituary

Morris Meinster of Palm Harbor, Florida, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019, with his loving family by his side. He was 79.

Born in Manhattan, New York, Morris (Moe) resided most of his life in Freehold, New Jersey. Moe was employed for forty years in the garment district in New York City as a member of the ILGWU. He also served in the United States Army. Moe was a dedicated husband and father, who enjoyed coaching sports with his sons and spending time with his family at the beach. Moe’s time in the garment district imbued him with a wonderful sense of panache. He thoroughly enjoyed a good laugh, a summer barbecue, and a perfect Reuben.

Moe was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Meinster and Lillian Shanis Meinster.

He is survived by his former wife, Joan Liss Meinster; brother, Herman Meinster and sister in law, Meryl Meinster; sister, Zelda Shanis; son, Alan Meinster and daughter in law, Denise Meinster, and granddaughters Julia Meinster and Grace Meinster; son, Lawrence Meinster and daughter in law, Mary Meinster, and grandsons, Alexander Meinster and Joel Meinster, and step granddaughters, Tori Rifenburg and Lizzy Rifenburg, and step grandson, Joey Rifenburg; son, Eric Meinster and daughter in law, Jeanine Meinster, and granddaughters, Amanda Meinster and Alexa Meinster.

A service with military honors will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940 on Monday, April 1st at 11:30 am. Please arrive at the cemetery no later than 11:15 am.
