Obituary for C. David Hatcher

C. David Hatcher of Warrington, PA passed away in Neshaminy Manor, Warrington, PA on Saturday, November 17, 2018. He was 76.

Born in Phoenixville, PA to the late Creel W. and Marcella (Cowan) Hatcher, David resided in Freehold, NJ for 27 years, before moving to Warrington, PA in 2015.

David received Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Ohio University. He formerly was employed as a guidance counselor with the Freehold Regional High School District for 37 years, retiring in 2008. He was an active member of the National Education Association and the New Jersey Education Association. He also enjoyed a successful real estate career in sales and appraisals. He was a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution and loved genealogy. David was a former beekeeper, private pilot, and a member of the Neptune Flying Club and Toastmasters. He was a model train enthusiast, a history buff, and a voracious reader. Most of all, he loved travelling to exotic areas of the world with his family.

He was the beloved husband of 44 years to Marilyn Ann Hatcher (nee Kircher); devoted father of Deborah Ann Hatcher and Dr. David Michael Hatcher and partner Dr. Tracy Marien; dear brother of Barbara Sponseller and husband Vern; loving brother-in-law of Charles Kircher and wife Ceil O’Brien; also survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and his Havanese granddog Wizard.

Visitation will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Tuesday, November 20th from 6:00-8:00 pm and Wednesday, November 21st from 10:00-11:00 am, prior to a service at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow in Doylestown Cemetery.
