John P. Murphy “Murph” of Doylestown, PA passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 in Doylestown Hospital. He was 74.

Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late John E. and Marion (McDonough) Murphy, John was a lifelong resident of Doylestown, PA.

He was employed as a local bartender for many years and also worked in Administration for the Bucks County Office of Employment and Training. He was a member of the Maennerchor Society of Doylestown; and also enjoyed boating, the NJ Shore, was an avid 76ers and Eagles fan and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. John also served as a reservist in the US Army.

He was the devoted father of Patricia Kelly and husband Chris, Melissa VanAken, Tammi Mancuso and partner Mark Matakonis, Lacey Mancuso, and Jack Murphy, Jr. and wife Kylee; dear brother of Eileen Lyons (and late husband Joseph), Rosalie Franks and husband Martin, Marion Principe and husband Lou Jimenez; loving grandfather of Riley, Jake, Brayden, Jolie, Jake M., Tristan and Viviana; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Friday, October 26th at 11:00 am. The family will receive their friends from 9:30 – 11:00 am prior to the service at funeral home.
