Condolence: My deepest condolences to the entire Atkinson family. I just found out of your loss this morning and am stunned by the news. Growing up, Rick was such a kind soul. His gift of words and manners were always beyond his years. I remember countless hours of playing football in the backyard of the Atkinson home (it was a perfect rectangular yard!). Rick had a passion for sports and a dogged determination to be the best he could be. I can see why he was attracted to the military, as the military provided an avenue to challenge oneself to be your best. Thoughts, prayers and shared memories go to your family. Sincerely, Jeff Reimel

Condolence: My deepest condolences go out to Rick's entire family. Rick was my cousin and a fantastic human being. He had a natural gift which was a kind and caring way about him. Growing up, I spent time with Rick at many family gatherings and at the shore in Sea Isle City, NJ. In later years, we ran the Philadelphia Half Marathon together - a great memory! I am honored and blessed to have known Rick. I will never forget him.

Condolence: My deepest sympathies to your family. Rick was a great neighbor, a very happy person with a contagious smile. A good country neighbor you could count on who greeted me with, "Hey Brother" and helped me out in several jams with stray calves and horses out of their fences. He will be missed by many. May the Peace of God that passes all understanding be with your family and friends at this time.
