Obituary for John Frederick McMullen III

John Frederick McMullen III, born September 30, 1942, passed away at his home in Doylestown on Friday June 15, 2018 after a long courageous battle with prostate cancer followed by pancreatic cancer. He was 75.

Many were unaware of his illness due to John’s positive attitude and always wanting others to see him as the active guy that he always was. He was a 1960 graduate of Hatboro Horsham High School. He had been a long term member of the Hatboro Horsham Jaycees, where he met many of his friends that he still has today, and had been co-chair of the Hatboro Christmas Parade. He served as a United States Marine Veteran. To support his family, John worked as a furniture repairman for Manover’s furniture store for many years as well as working as a Financial Advisor for Waddell & Reed for over 40 years.

He is proceeded in death by his mother Anne (Stewart) McMullen and Father John Frederick McMullen Jr. He is survived by his sister Mary Ann McMullen of Perkasie. He was married to Bonnie (Kling) McMullen from 1967 until her death in July 1995. He is survived by their two children Michael McMullen of Perkasie and Lisa Boike Lake (Richard Lake) of Quakertown and his grandchildren Riley and Jacob Boike. He was married to Victoria Johnson from 1998 until her death in October 2003. He is survived by Victoria’s 3 children Jason (and Allison) Cottone of Horsham and their children Ella and Evan, Jeff (and Amy) Cottone of Chambersburg and their children Elise, Ethan and Audrey, and Jenna (Brian Beauregard) and their son Gavin of Raleigh, NC. He is survived by his current wife Joan Russell McMullen of Doylestown; who he married in 2011 and her children Sharon Warner (James), Russell Krysiak, Jason Krysiak (Tina Wintje) and Warren Krysiak (Cynthia) and their daughter Farrah.

He was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held at the Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 127 E. Court Street, Doylestown, PA on Saturday, June 23rd at 11 am. The family will receive their friends from 10:00-11:00 am prior to the service at church.
