Obituary for Thomas M. Donohue

Thomas M. Donohue of Doylestown, PA passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at his residence with his beloved wife Barbara by his side. He was 75.

Born in Paterson, NJ Tom resided in Wyckoff, NJ and West Milford, NJ before moving to Doylestown, PA in 1991.

He was formerly employed as an Industrial Engineer with Ford Motor Company of Mahwah, NJ and as an Operations Manager with Ametek Corporation in Sellersville, PA. Tom retired in 2007. Tom graduated from Wesleyan University, Middletown, CT with a Bachelor’s Degree. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church of Doylestown, PA and served in the US Army National Guard.

He was the beloved husband of 52 years to Barbara (Colavita) Donohue; devoted father of Karen Connolly and husband Christopher, Lori Tolchinsky and husband Adam, Thomas J. Donohue and wife Karen; dear brother of Gail Albertson and husband Robert; loving grandfather of Erin and Allison Connolly, and Lila Tolchinsky.

As a young father, Tom took great pleasure in coaching his children’s sports teams. As time passed, Tom enjoyed cooking and gardening and planning family barbecues. Tom was also very talented with building and home repairs. He took pride in a job well done.

After retirement, Tom worked for a transportation service for disabled children then generously donated his time to Meals on Wheels where he connected with homebound people by delivering meals and striking up conversations.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 17 Pompton Avenue, Pompton Lakes, NJ 07442 on June 9, 2018 at 11:00AM.

Interment will be private in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
