Condolence From: John Costello
Condolence: I was shocked to see Rick's obituary in Wednesday's Courier. I grew up with the Caputos on Central Avenue but lost touch when my family moved. Unfortunately, I am working on Friday and cannot get off but extend my sincere condolences to Rick's family on his loss. Fair winds and following seas, my Old Friend.

Condolence: A Shining Star has fallen and will be sorely missed by all who crossed his path. Knowing Rick for over 50 years and being able to call him a friend has been my honor. Being around Rick always made for a better day. He will remain in our thoughts and prayers until it is our time to go and our deepest sympathies go out to Anne, Danny, Rick Jr and the rest of the family. Rest in Peace Rick, and God Bless!

Condolence From: Sameer Somal on behalf of Somal family
Condolence: It is with a heavy heart that I tender my sincerest condolences to Mrs. Ann Caputo, Ricky, and my dear friend, Danny on behalf of my father (Herb Somal), mother (Rani Somal) and sister (Simran Somal). Growing up two doors down from Mr. Caputo was a privilege. I cherished every opportunity to converse with him and feel his kindness. Mr. Rick Caputo never uttered negative or bad word about anyone. He was so wealthy of the heart, and selfless in his care for everyone. Over the past 30 years, there were several situations where I felt bad about something I had done or was feeling sad, and Mr. Caputo always cheered me up with a smile or great story. Simply but, Mr. Rick Caputo was a gem of a human being. I feel how weak and fruitless any words of mine will be in an attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that your husband and father Mr. Richard R. Caputo, was a great man – representing the finest of qualities one can offer. You should feel proud that his best qualities certainly live on in you Ricky and Danny. I pray that God and time may assuage the anguish of your bereavement and leave you only the cherished memory of a great man loved so dearly. With loving memories of Mr. Richard R. Caputo; he will be missed. "There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart." -- Mahatma Gandhi Yours, Very Sincerely and Respectfully, -Sameer, Herb, Rani & Simran Somal
