Mary Ellen McGonigle (nee McKeown) of Doylestown, PA peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018. She was 86.

Born in and raised in Buckingham Valley, PA to the late Peter and Nellie (Helena) McKeown, she remained in her childhood home until 2011 when she moved to Doylestown.

Through the years she worked as a waitress at the Doylestown Maennerchor and at the Doylestown WaWa, where she made coffee with a smile.

She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel F. McGonigle, Jr.; devoted mother of Peggy Hager (Hugh) of Doylestown, Frank McGonigle of Warrington, and Patty Johnson (Rick) of Dublin; dear sister of the late Helen Duvall, Sarah Bellerby, Catherine Myers and Peter McKeown; loving grandmother of Meredith Spadaccino (Tim), Kristen Hack (Bryan), Matt Johnson, Chris McGonigle, Scott McGonigle, Christina McGonigle, Traci Porczynski (Tad), Lukas Porczynski (Victoria), Seth Porczynski and Douglas Hager (Katie). She was the great-grandmother of five beautiful girls, and also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Wednesday, February 21st from 10:00-11:00 am, with a service to begin at 11:00 am.

Private cremation will follow.

The family would like to thank Caring Hospice Services, Neshaminy Manor and Doylestown Medical Associates for the wonderful care they provided.
