Obituary for Donald L. McNamara

Donald L. McNamara of Doylestown, PA and formerly of Maplewood, NJ passed away at his residence on Sunday, January 14, 2018. He was 68.

Born in Paterson, NJ to the late John and Regina (Trainor) McNamara, Donald resided in Maplewood, NJ for 38 years, before moving to Doylestown, PA six months ago.

He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Kean University and a Masters Degree in Family Counseling from Montclair State University. Donald was formerly employed as a rehabilitation counselor with the State of NJ Department of Labor for 34 years, retiring in 2006. During this time he also served as an Adjunct Professor in the field of community services at New Jersey City University. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church of South Orange, NJ and enjoyed antique car shows, country music, good food, activities with children and grandchildren, word puzzles and playing Sudoku.

He was the beloved husband of 41 years to Mary (O’Donnell) McNamara; devoted father of Erin Mason and husband Sean, Heather Albanese and husband Frank; dear brother of Bernadette, Jack, Frances and the late Fred McNamara; loving grandfather of Taegan, Cian, Skylar and Zoeyanna; also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A viewing will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 5175 Cold Spring Creamery Road, Doylestown, PA 18902 on Friday, January 19th from 10:00-11:00 am, followed by a mass at 11:00 am.

Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine Cemetery, Doylestown, PA
