Anna C. Simons, 88, passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2018 in her home on her beloved Pine Holo Farm in Pineville.

Anna was born in Bristol on the Purvin family farm to parents Albert H. Purvin and Clara Dorman.

During her long life, Anna spent her time joyfully serving her community. She achieved the positions of Chairmen of the Bucks County Board of Assessment, Secretary and Director of the Bucks County Farmers Association, trustee of the Hughesian Trust, and board member for CETA. She was also a devoted employee for the Bucks Co. Office of Employment & Training, Bucks Co. Planning Commission, Buckingham Township Zoning Board, Bucks Co. Republican Executive Committee, and the Private Industry Council. Additionally, Anna was an early member of the Agriculture Preservation Committees, and along with her husband Charlie was one of the first farmers in the county to place their farm into Preservation in 1993.

Having been given the gift of foresight near the end, Anna frequently expressed her deep gratitude for the true friendship of so many neighbors and young people in her community, and the time she was given on Earth to share with all of them.

She was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 38 years, Charles R. Simons, her brother Albert Purvin, sister Marie Rogalski, and her children; Sandra Ludwig-Hargas, William, Arthur, and Helen Ludwig, and their father William L. Ludwig.

Anna is survived by her sister Ruth Motz, daughter Susan Ludwig, her constant companion Howard C. Bailey, sons-in-law Martin Hargas, Terry Clemons, and Harry Dash, several nieces and nephews, and by Arianna M. Hargas, her only grandchild and the “light of her life.”

In lieu of funeral services, friends and family will be invited to a farmer’s picnic this coming spring to celebrate and remember Anna.
