I am deeply saddened to hear of David's passing. He was part of a memorable high school senior English class my first year of teaching at Washburn High School. David's sense of humor and enthusiastic personality made him a stand-out for sure, but he was a pleasure to have in class. The letters he wrote me after he joined the military always brought a smile to my face. Rest in peace, David; in my mind, you'll always be a fun-loving high school student.
