Maureen R. Lawton of Chalfont, PA passed away at her residence on Friday, October 27, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was 59.

Born in Chicago, IL to the late Edward J. McMahon, Sr. and Mary Ellen (Prendergast) McMahon, Maureen lived for 15 years in Barrington, IL. She then moved to Berwyn, PA and Alpharetta, GA, before relocating to Chalfont, PA 11 years ago.

Maureen was employed as a legal secretary with the White & Williams law firm in Berwyn, PA for several years before retiring in 2003. She enjoyed her daily water aerobics workout at the Philadelphia Sports Club as well as travelling with her husband, Greg. Together they toured more than 40 Civil War battlefields from Virginia to Arkansas, and traveled throughout Canada, England, France, and Italy, including trips to Pompeii and the isle of Capri. Maureen also enjoyed attending classical musical concerts and professional theater, enjoying many performances at the Court Theatre in Chicago and the Stratford (Ontario) Shakespeare Festival over the years.

Everyone loved Maureen. Her kind, empathetic, and generous personality endeared her to family, friends and acquaintances alike. Her brilliant smile, warmth, and sometimes mischievous sense of humor were a joy to all.

She was the beloved wife of 39 years to Gregory G. Lawton; dear sister of Daniel (Maureen) McMahon; Kathleen McMahon; and Edward (Kathleen) McMahon; loving aunt of Brendan, Sean, Raymond and Bridget; cherished sister-in-law of Julie Lawton.
