Edward Joseph Monahan, Jr. passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017. He was 79.

He was the loving husband of Joan (nee Gagliardi) for fifty-one years; Father to Mary Thomas (Francis, deceased), Anne Ettore (Michael), Edward J Monahan, III (Nancy), Kathleen Gorelick (Robert), Joanie Donaphon (Mark); Pop-Pop to Sam, Jack, Abigail, Luke, Andrew, Madeline Rose, Sean, Lauren, Kyle, Caroline, Kevin, and Edward IV. Predeceased by his daughter Rosemary, his parents Edward Joseph Monahan, Sr. and Mary (Reed), and his brother Francis. Surviving siblings includes Margaret Hogan (Tom), John, Dennis (Patricia), and Mary Glynn (Michael).

Ed graduated from North Catholic High School in 1956 and was a two-time Philadelphia Catholic League baseball hitting champion. He was also a graduate of the School of Engineering at Villanova University, class of 1961. Ed was a retired Captain in the U.S. Navy and founder and Chairman of the Board of Coastal Technical Sales in Montgomeryville, PA.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. A funeral mass will follow at 11am.
