Obituary for John Thomas Quinn III

John Thomas Quinn III, aka Tommy, of Chalfont, PA passed away at his residence on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. He was 66.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, John lived in the Warminster and Willow Grove, PA areas until he moved to Chalfont, PA in 1983.

John suffered a spinal cord injury at the age of 13, and in spite of his disability and severe chronic pain, he kept a positive attitude. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humor, analytical skills, storytelling, cooking for groups of friends, fixing neighborhood children’s bicycles and tricycles as well as friend’s and family’s gadgets, appliances, and motors. John was an inspiration to anyone who came to know him.

John was a highly analytical trouble shooter and exceptional problem solver; qualities he used to help others whenever he had the opportunity, both inside and outside of his work. John was a wonderful teacher, trainer, and mentor, and shared his expertise in separating a problem’s components into manageable parts and then determining how to identify and provide the best solutions for those parts. His skills led him to become a Systems Analyst and Information Technology Specialist with Prudential Insurance Company for 27 years.

John was the beloved husband of Ann; cherished son of Dolores Quinn and the late John T. Quinn, Jr.; dear brother of Ellen, Jane and Susan and brother-in-law of David and John; loving uncle of Karen, Michael, Katie, Bill and Mary and grand uncle of Casey, Norah, Evan, Nicholas, and Quinn.

Cremation services were private under the direction of the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home/Central Bucks Crematory, Inc., 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, 4742 North 24th Street, Suite 400, Pheonix, AZ 85016 or www.wish.org would be appreciated.
