Obituary for James R. Orfe

BUCKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA - James R. Orfe, a Bucks County resident, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2012. He was 65 years old.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, James resided in Bucks County, PA for the past 30 years.

James graduated from the University of Temple High School and attended Upper Moreland High School in Philadelphia where he excelled in athletics and received the All BuxMont Award for Athletics. He enjoyed playing basketball, baseball and football during his high school years and went on to serve in the US Marine Corps, where he served during the Vietnam War and served in the 3rd Force Recon. James received the Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two stars and the Vietnam Campaign Medal for his valiant service.

He later left the Marine Corps. to receive an Associate Degree from Bucks County Community College and was formerly employed with the Department of Navy and later the Department of Air Force for the United States Government for the past 25 years, before retiring in 2008.

James was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan and enjoyed hunting, camping, deep sea fishing and travelling to St. Martin in the Caribbean.

James is the beloved son of Mildred Orfe and the late James L. Orfe, dear brother of Gary A. Orfe and his Fiancé' Patti Caglioti, father of Lisa Dee, grandfather of Megan and Ryan, loving nephew of Dorothy Rathgeb, cousin of Linda Prout, Patricia Herring and Nancy Dinatale.

A service will be held at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940 on Wednesday, June 27th at 2:30 pm.
