DOYLESTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA - William H. Ackerman of Doylestown, PA passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014 in the Pine Run Health Center, Doylestown, PA. He was 89.

Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late William H. and Laura Talley Ackerman, Bill resided in Doylestown since 2012 and was a former resident of Huntingdon Valley and Glenside, PA.

He was formerly employed as a jig and die maker with E.G. Budd Manufacturing Co. of Philadelphia for 44 years, before retiring. Bill was a US naval Veteran having served during World War II. He was also a member of the Glenside United Church of Christ, enjoyed golfing and was a sports enthusiast.

He is the beloved husband of 67 years to May J. Sellers Ackerman, devoted father of Linda (Jim) McHenry and Stephen (Sydney) Ackerman, dear brother of Clara (Walter) DeCoursey, and the late Albert Ackerman, Blanche LaRue and Laura Ackerman, Loving grandfather of Cynthia Farina, Matthew McHenry, Ian McHenry, Stephen, Daniel and Travis Ackerman, cherished great-grandfather of Isabella, Grace and Sophia Farina, Cleo Iwata McHenry and Eva Iwata McHenry.

A service will be held at the Whitemarsh Memorial Park Chapel, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Horsham Twp., PA 19002 on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 11:30 am.

Interment will follow after the chapel service within the cemetery.
