Virginia Y. Miles “Pastor Ginny” of Doylestown, PA passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 in Doylestown Hospital. She was 77.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Casper Ernest and Marissa Flora (Balch) Yockey, Ginny resided in North Canton, OH and Pleasant Hills, PA before moving to Doylestown, PA in 1978.

She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Grove City College, Grove City, PA and a Masters Degree from Lutheran Seminary in Philadelphia. Ginny also attended classes at Drew University Theological School and Moravian Theological Seminary. She was the former Director of Christian Education for Lehman United Methodist Church of Hatboro; former Associate Pastor of Doylestown United Methodist Church; current Pastor of Penns Park United Methodist Church and an Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church. Ginny served on the advisory board of A Woman’s Place; President of Bucks County PFLAG and served with Reconciling United Methodists of Eastern PA.

She was the beloved wife of 55 years to William John Miles; devoted mother of Carrie Puntel and husband John, Richard Miles and the late Maria Miles; dear sister of the late Ernie Yockey (who is survived by his wife Sally); loving grandmother of Max and Olivia Puntel.

Visitation will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Tuesday, November 6th from 6:00-8:00 pm.

Funeral Service will be held at Penns Park United Methodist Church, 2394 Second Street Pike, Penns Park, PA 18943 on Wednesday, November 7th at 1:30 pm.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Penns Park United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
