Obituary for John L. Watts Jr.

John Watts Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on September 11th, 2018 with his loving wife and family by his side. John enjoyed 80 wonderful years of life.

John was born in Philadelphia to John and Catherine (Ritch) Watts. John spent 59 years happily married to Ann “Nancy” (McGinnis) Watts. Together John and Nancy raised six children, John (Diane), Marita Stout (Mark), James (Karen), Christina Lynn (Darryl), Joseph (Diane Metzer), and Ann Watts Cotherman (Craig). John and Nancy were devoted to spending quality time with their 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Rosemary Zuraski and Theresa Hassell. He was proceeded in death by his sister, Catherine Tuliback, his son-in-law Mark Stout and his granddaughter, Rachel Watts.

John was a dedicated PECO employee for 35 years. In his retirement, John loved golfing with his buddies in the PECO league every Tuesday. John enjoyed traveling with his wife, gardening and spending time with family. For many years, he volunteered his time to educate youth on Hunter Safety at Delaware Valley Fish and Game. He took pride in being part of the Guardian Angels Group at his church. John looked forward to driving around every week on community trash day to find all his beloved “treasures”.

Relatives and friends will be welcomed at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 5194 Cold Spring Creamery Road, Doylestown, PA 18902 for a visitation at 9:00 am on Friday, September 14th followed by his funeral mass at 10:30 am.

John and his family want to sincerely thank the nurses and staff at Doylestown Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in memory of John Watts Jr.
