Richard "Rick" Atkinson
Richard F. Atkinson of Perkasie, PA passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown, PA. He was 56.
Born in Philadelphia, PA Rick was a resident of Perkasie, PA since 2006.
A graduate of LaSalle College High School and the University of Delaware, Rick was currently employed as a pharmaceutical representative for Janssen Phamaceuticals/Johnson & Johnson of Titusville, NJ. Additionally, he was currently serving as Command Sergeant Major for HHT/2 – 104 CAV Pennsylvania National Guard and has served his country since 1984. Rick had a special gift of mentoring others whether they were civilian or military. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Central Bucks and loved lighthouses, sailing and spending time at the beach. Rick especially enjoyed being grandpa to his 17 month old grandson. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.
He was the beloved husband of 32 years to Kathleen Atkinson; devoted father of Matthew Atkinson, Alyssa Atkinson and her fiancé Peter Coleman; loving grandfather of Coleson Atkinson; cherished son of Margaret Atkinson and the late Richard Atkinson; dear brother of Scott Atkinson and wife Kelly, Douglas Atkinson and wife, Rebecca, and Todd Atkinson; also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive friends at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 100 Broad Street, Hilltown, PA 18927 on Thursday, August 2nd from 9:30-11:30 am, with a mass to follow at 11:30 am.
Interment with military honors will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940 at 2:00 pm.
A Celebration of Rick’s life will follow immediately thereafter at La Stalla, 18 Swamp Rd, Newtown, PA 18940. Family and friends are welcome. We encourage you to share your favorite memories about Rick with us.
