Obituary for Robert A. "Bob" Jacobs

Robert Jacobs of Chalfont PA passed away unexpectedly after a hard battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on Sunday, July 15, 2018. He was 51 years old.

He was born in Cambridge, New York to Stephen and Katherine (Murphy) Jacobs. Bob graduated from Monmouth Regional High school in 1984 and then went onto graduate from Arcadia University in 1988 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science. At his death Bob was Vice President of Clinical Data Operations at ERT in Philadelphia, where he worked for over 30 years.

He is survived by his beloved wife Alice (Visco) and loving children Alexandra, Tara, and Billy. Parents Stephen and Katherine (Murphy) Jacobs. Brothers Stephen (Erin) Jacobs, Kenneth (Michalina) Jacobs and Elizabeth Jacobs. His in-laws Anthony and Laura Visco, sisters in-law Amy (Kang) Na, Laurie (Troy) Mart, Abigail (Thomas) Rusert and brother in-law Anthony (Maya) Visco. In addition to 19 nieces and nephews.

In his free time, Bob enjoyed playing golf at LuLu Country club where he was an active member. He also enjoyed playing softball and darts with colleagues and friends or just hanging out with a cold beer and good company. He loved to cheer on the Washington Redskins and take trips to Disney World and to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Most importantly Bob was a devoted and loving father. He treasured the daily visits from Alex when he was in the hospital for over a month, he appreciated Tara’s thoughtful nursing student contributions to his battle with AML leukemia, and he loved watching Billy play baseball at Plumstead Christian School.

A memorial service in his honor is being held at Caramel Presbyterian Church, 100 Edge Hill Road, Glenside, PA on Saturday, July 28th at 12 Noon. The family will receive their friends from 10:00am-12:00 Noon at church prior to the service.
