Juris was born on July 20, 1944 in Liepaja, Latvia. He was the only son of the late Andrejs and Edite Abrenietis. The Abrenietis family immigrated to the United States in 1950 and resided in Philadelphia where Juris grew up. Years later the family purchased a home in Solebury, PA.

Juris attended Central High School in Philadelphia and received his diploma in 1962. He was described in his high school year book as the “outdoorsman of the class fond of fishing and camping” with a love of folk music, progressive jazz and sports. Four years later, Juris received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Temple University. He served two years in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968, and in1969 began his long career with the airline industry, and for 25 years commuted each day from his home in Solebury, PA to JFK International Airport in New York City, working first for Pan Am Airlines and later for Delta Airlines. He retired in 1994.

Juris’ love for nature, music and sports was life-long. He was a thoughtful, generous and caring friend to all who knew him and will be missed dearly.
