James V. Maguire, III of Furlong, PA passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018 in Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, PA. He was 85.

Born in Newark, NJ to the late James V. Maguire, Jr. and Lighta (Nervi) Maguire, Jim resided in Hillsborough, NJ before moving to Furlong, PA in 1984.

He was formerly employed as a police officer with the City of Newark in New Jersey for 25 years, prior to retirement. Jim was a US Marine Veteran and served during the Korean War.

He was the beloved husband of Marion K. (Lill) Maguire; devoted father of Katherine Castro, Margaret E. Maguire, Theresa Anne Fitzpatrick, Dorothy Pfister, and the late James V. Maguire, IV; dear brother of Joan LoGuidice and husband Joe, and Patricia Anthony; also survived by five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Private cremation services were under the direction of the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
