Obituary for Harold Nicholas "Nick" Chubb Jr.

Harold Nicholas (Nick) Chubb Jr. of Doylestown, PA passed away at his residence on Thursday, May 3, 2018. He was 85.

Born Doylestown, PA to the late Harold and Wilhelmina (Mina) Chubb, Nick was a lifelong resident of Doylestown, PA.

Nick was a graduate of Doylestown High School and attended Temple University. He was formerly employed by Con Agra Corporation and Hunt Wesson Food Division as a Sales Territory Manager for Philadelphia and York County.

He was a life member of Salem United Church of Christ, Doylestown, PA, where he served as a President of the Consistory and was a chairman of numerous church committees. A leader of the Starlighters Band, as he played the drums for over fifty years, starting in High School. Music and the Big Band sound Era was a great part of his life.

Nick was a dedicated life- time member of the Doylestown Volunteer Fire Co No. 1, and the OP James Ambulance Corp., member of the American Legion, Knights of the Golden Eagle, and the Doylestown Masonic Lodge. He also served on the Central Bucks School Board and was a volunteer at Doylestown Hospital. Nick was a Veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War.

He loved to travel with wife Marion, especially to Williamsburg, VA and an annual trip to Maine where they enjoyed sailing. He loved his wife, family and church. He loved to play the drums, and was huge fan of the Philadelphia Flyers, Philadelphia Eagles and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Nick was the beloved husband of 65 years to Marion (Walker) Chubb; devoted father of Nick Chubb, III and wife Jean (Kutzler) Chubb, Bruce W. Chubb and wife Sheri Edwards Chubb, and the late Timothy S. Chubb, who was married to Linda at the time of his death in 2006; dear brother of Joan Arrowood; loving grandfather of Nathan Chubb (wife Kate), Kelly Grendon (husband Dan), Timothy S. Chubb Jr. (wife Amber), Stephanie Chubb and Sheredan Chubb; cherished great-grandfather of Nathan, Felicity and Marcellus; also blessed with many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Salem United Church of Christ, 186 E. Court Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Saturday, May 12th at 11:00 am.

Cremation services were private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Salem United Church of Christ Memorial Endowment Fund or Doylestown Fire Company No. 1, 68 Shewell Avenue, Doylestown, PA 18901 would be appreciated.
