Obituary for Dale E. Drewen

Dale E. Drewen of Doylestown, PA passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in Doylestown Hospital. He was 81.

Born in Manheim Township, Lancaster County, PA to the late Samuel and Sarah (Willoughby) Drewen, Dale was a former resident of Lititz, PA, Cinnaminson, NJ, and Greensburg, PA before moving to Doylestown in 1986.

He was formerly employed with Snap-On Tools for 30 years as an Executive Branch Sales Manager before retiring. Dale was an entrepreneur owning several Bedding and Brass Stores in Bucks and Hunterdon County , NJ; was a member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church of Doylestown; a member of Manheim Lodge #587 Free and Accepted Masons.

Dale was a car enthusiast, he enjoyed collecting and restoring antique cars. He restored a “1931” Model A Ford and owned a “1933” Dodge RestoMod; member of the National Chrysler Products Club. Throughout his life he enjoyed collecting Lionel Trains, camping, snowmobiling, home remodeling and building and flying model planes. Nothing got in the way of NASCAR on Sundays.

He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Shirley (Garman) Drewen; devoted father of Sheila Ann Drewen Mayer and husband Bill, Sharon K. Drewen DeAngelis and husband Jack, Suzanne Drewen, and Sharilyn Drewen Vidal and husband Juan; dear brother of June Mace and several late siblings; loving grandfather of Samantha Gilfillan; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Monday, March 19th at 12:00 Noon. The family will receive friends and relatives from 11:00 am – 12 Noon prior to the service at church.
