Obituary for Anthony D. Rigante

Anthony D. Rigante “Mr. Yankee” of Doylestown, PA formerly of Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, NY passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018. He was 93.

Born in New York, NY to the late Rocco and Cristina (Buico) Rigante, Anthony resided in Bensonhurst, NY before moving to Doylestown, PA in 1998.

He was formerly employed with the NYC Department of Parks and worked in Brooklyn, NY for 26 years, retiring in 1980. Anthony was a former Vice President of Local 924; a US Army Veteran of World War II; and avid Yankees Fan.

He is the beloved husband of Lucy Rigante; devoted father of Rocco Rigante (Ellen), Carol Lamoureaux (Raymond); dear brother of the late Vincent Rigante and Helen Panico; loving grandfather of John Acquavita (Shauna), Michael Urso (Debbie), and Kevin Urso; loving great grandfather of Addison Urso, Matteo and Angelo Acquavita.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 E. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Monday, April 2nd at 11:15 am. Family will receive friends from 10:15 -11:15 am prior to mass.

Entombment will follow with military honors at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940 at 1:00 pm.
